Magnificent Attractions like the Buddha Hand Bridge in Vietnam13 September 2018
The Koi Bridge
If the fever about the Golden Bridge, also known as the Buddha Hand Bridge in Da Nang is still not showing signs of cooling down, then right in the center of Ha Long, the youths are enthusiastically checking in at the romantic Koi bridge.
Located in the Japanese Garden on the top of Ba Deo Pass in the Sun World Halong Complex, the Koi bridge’s design is inspired by the Koi fish, hence the name. The bridge is constructed with steel bridge frame, with the under bridge, girder and deck made out of woods. The bridge is painted bright red - the favorite color of the Japanese, symbolizing the sun, good fortunes, blessing and peace.
The Koi bridge also goes by another name: Yin Yang bridge, since it’s designed according to the theory of yin and yang in Japanese culture. The Yang bridge is placed above which represents the male, meanwhile the Yin bridge below representing the female. In Japanese yin yang theory, Yin is characterized as slow, soft, yielding, diffuse, cold, wet, and passive; and is associated with water, earth, the moon, femininity, and night time. Yang, by contrast, is fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, dry, and active; and is associated with fire, sky, the sun, masculinity and daytime.
